Highlights of Japan
Reply

Hi all,

Has anyone taken this tour?  When is the best time to go?  How was the food?

What was your favorite part of the tour? Any optional excursions or places that we should not miss!?

Thanks!

Konnichiwa!

Visiting Japan was an amazing experience!

I was weary of the food at first too, but each night we got to try a different type of Japanese cuisine.  All of them were different and all of them were delicious!

Summers in Japan tend to be hot, so traveling in the Spring or Fall is probably best.  I was there in November.  The weather was cool, but perfect for walking around the many different temples and shrines.

Japan definitely has something for everyone, history, booming cities and ancient customs.  I'm not sure if I can choose only one favorite part of the tour, but I will say that the optional trip to Hiroshima cannot be missed.  It's expensive, but 100% worth it!!!

I'm so excited! I'm traveling this November to Japan with Go Ahead, the 11th to be exact. Has anyone else been to Japan before? I'm particularly interested in hearing more about the cuisine. I LOVE food and I LOVE Japanese food but my only experience has been stateside. Should I prepare my stomach for all sorts of exotic cuisine or will it actually be similar to what I've had at typical Japanese restaurants in the US?

In any event, I can't wait. Join me if you can!

Hi!

You are going to have an AMAZING time on this tour!

I loved every minute of it!  The food is incredible...different...but incredible! I was actually expecting to eat a lot more sushi than we did, which was a nice surprise.  One of my favorite meals was Shabu Shabu.  For that meal we sat around a low table and cooked meets and veggies in a broth, similar to fondue, but better!  You won't go hungry on this tour, that's for sure.

Enjoy your trip and I can't wait to read about it on here when you get back.

Happy Travels!

I can't wait I'm going Nov. 11th too. Did you have time to explore after dinner the city you were in?
