Spain - Barcelona and Northern Spain
Reply

I am considering taking the Barcelona and Northern Spain tour in November.  Does anyone have information they can share on the weather and sites?  I'm undecided between this tour and the walking tour of Ireland.  Any information you can share is greatly appreciated.  Happy Traveling.

I have been to both Ireland and Barcelona. Two totally different places. If you are committed to November, I would really consider the weather issue. We were in Barcelona in late October and it was cool but the weather was sunny and just perfect.

We were in Ireland in February and had two days of sun but five days of rain and mist and 40's/50's temps. Summer is a much better time to be walking in Ireland. Check the weather information on weather.com and you can see the typical patterns of both temperatures and rainfall for each place.

Good luck making your decision. By the way, I loved both places. As a city, Barcelona is so vibrant  with so many things to do. I haven't  been to Dublin but that's on our list.

My wife and I did the Barcelona/Northern Spain tour in November 2009.  Barcelona is an exciting city with wonderful museums and architecture, etc.  Northern Spain is completely different from southern Spain, as the north is much more lush and green.  We had great weather, except for a couple of rainy days.  Lots of interesting places on the tour, especially Santiago de Compostela and Orvieto (among others!).   Our tour guide was excellent and was extremely knowledgeable.  Our tour group, at about 40 people, was a bit too large for my taste, but everyone got along very well; our guide had the patience of Job - a much-needed and welcome trait with a group that large.  Hotels we fine - nothing fancy, but definitely quite acceptable - (anyway, who spends much time in the hotel when you're on tour?) Good luck with your decision.
