Hello   We  will be taking the Sept 18 2010 Grand tour of Italy Southbound.   I thought it would fun to perhaps meet other people in our area  that are taking the trip .  We are in Milford Connecticut, an hour from NYC and an hour from Foxwoods. If anyone would like to meet beforehand, that would be great.  Especially if you have been before, would welcome your thoughts and advice.

I took this tour in April 2008, and it was absolutely wonderful ( my 5th trip to Italy, but the 1st one with an organized group.)  The tour director's name was Mary-you'll be really lucky if you get her! Don't miss the sidetrip to Sienna and SanGimignano  or the one to Perugia.  In my opinion, I wouldn't spend your free time in Florence at the Ufizi unless your REALLY knowledgeable on Renaissance art- It's a little overwhelming.  I'm sure you'll have a great time.

I have a question for you- I'm trying to set up a thread for a trip I'm taking to Spain in April 2010, but can't figure out how to initiate it.  Can you help?

Hello  When you go to reply , you should see at the top left of the page(in blue) it says new thread.   You can then set up a new question.  It does not come up right away. It goes through a vetting process.  It will show up in a day or so.

By the way is there a lot of walking on this Magic of Italy tour?   I am young (57) but have bad feet.  Already bought NAOT sandals, but wondered if those will be enough.  Thanks for your input.  Donna

Moderate amount of walking- the sandals should be fine.  You'll have a GREAT time, I'm sure.

Hello,

How was your trip? I have used Trafalgar, good price- good value. Always at least 1 glitch. But well worth going each time. Friends, one of whom was born in Italy,  uses Go Ahead Travel, so we are switching. What advice would you give on sights to see or avoid. Were the side trips worth the higher cost. And finally, was the Euro a sticker shock?

Hope you had the best time. jeanne
