Tour group size impacts the overall ease and comfort of traveling together.

The right group size makes it easier to:

• Get to know your fellow travelers.
• Connect with your Tour Director and local guides.
• Access local culture and remote natural landscapes.

We determine the ideal group size for each adventure, which—unlike the industry standard of 45 travelers—never exceeds 38 travelers.

While our average tour group size is about 22 travelers, you can enjoy a smaller, more intimate experience on our dedicated Small Group Tours or with your own hand-picked group of 10 or more travel companions.

Tour interruptions

Our extensive network of offices around the world—and our integration of ISO 31000: Risk Management Guidelines—help our dedicated 24/7 Emergency Service Teams anticipate and address on-tour challenges in a flexible and iterative way.

These teams support travelers and Tour Directors using a combination of extensive training, simulations, incident response planning, and decades of experience to help manage emergencies from personal health concerns or injuries to major world events. As needed, they can facilitate additional support for groups on tour, arrange assistance from outside specialists, and liaise with local and international authorities to help solve on-the-ground issues. In addition, a part of these teams is specifically dedicated to supporting and facilitating communication between travelers and families in the event of an emergency while on the road or at home.

Travel advisory changes

Should a destination be put under a stay-at-home order while travelers are on the road, we will either reroute the tour or bring all travelers home as soon as possible. For tours with itinerary adjustments, customers will not incur any additional fees. Customers with flights purchased through Go Ahead will not incur any flight change fees.

Go Ahead also reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to make the decision to end a tour early due to COVID-19 concerns, even if a destination does not have a stay-at-home order.

Travel protection

Travelers with Go Ahead Tours are offered insurance through Risk Strategies Insurance. Your two plan options are Trip Protection and Basic Trip Protection. These plans include travel insurance benefits underwritten by the United States Fire Insurance Company to help secure your investment, as well as non-insurance assistance services provided by Seven Corners.

There are a few different ways Go Ahead travelers can leave a public review after they’ve returned home from tour. We also collect thorough tour evaluations so we can continue to offer the best quality tours and experiences for our travelers.

Are all reviews posted?

Violation of community guidelines is the only reason a review or photo won’t be posted. We believe in being open and honest with our travelers, so we won’t delete reviews with negative remarks.

Why we value traveler reviews

Reviews are a great way for other travelers to get a sense of and get excited about the tours they’re interested in, and they help Go Ahead understand what is or isn’t working on any given itinerary.

We have a small team that reads every review to ensure feedback from our travelers is reaching the correct teams and to verify reviews meet our community guidelines prior to being viewable on our website. Some reviews may be handed off to our Customer Engagement Team for further follow-up as needed.

We want to hear about our travelers’ experience with us pre-tour, on-tour, and post-tour. We read each review and share the content with relevant teams so we can celebrate those that provided excellent service and share feedback about how we can improve our tours.
